About this deal

Photosynthesis is the process that plants go through when using sunlight and chlorophyll to turn water and carbon dioxide into nutrients. Inside the plant cell are small organelles called chloroplasts, which store the energy of sunlight. Within the thylakoid membranes of the chloroplast is a light-absorbing pigment called chlorophyll, which is responsible for giving the plant its green color. During photosynthesis, chlorophyll absorbs energy from blue- and red-light waves, and reflects green-light waves, making the plant appear green.

Poster 1: D. Shevela and G. Govindjee (2016). Oxygenic Photosynthesis, Agrisera Educational Poster 1, doi: 10.6084/m9.figshare.24039480. Many scientists, researchers and medical experts use scientific posters to explain their findings in a simple and easy-to-understand format. What is the purpose of a scientific poster? The reactions of photosynthesis occur in two phases: the light-independent reactions, and the light-independent reactions (aka the Calvin cycle) Feel free to change the colors, text, icons, or illustrations to make the design your own or simply input your data to have an optimized scientific poster in minutes. Step 4 – Bring your scientific poster to life with icons, illustrations and branding elements Photosynthesis Can You Guess? Cards where students have todescribe keywords for photosynthesis without using other commonly used words associated with it Besides the examples above, you’ll find a sizeable collection of poster templates and specifically scientific posters to choose from.

Animals get their food from plants by eating plants directly or by eating other animals that have already eaten plants. Plants are the most fundamental part of the food chain. Photosynthesis occurs in two major steps: light reactions and dark reactions. In light reactions, solar energy is captured to produce ATP and NADPH, while in dark reactions, ATP and NADPH are used to produce glucose. References and further readingSo if you've ever had any of your students or children asking the question, 'How do plants make food?', then photosynthesis is your answer! What Does Photosynthesis Produce? The sparse but surgically precise use of text here contrasts the lush use of plants to explain photosynthesis. Water vapour will leave the leaf through the stomata during the day as the stomata remain open. This allows water to move around the plant through the xylem vessels. Our Poster Maker guarantees that you’ll make the most intuitive and well-designed scientific posters in a single session. Make the best scientific posters within minutes today! Light is one factor that affects the rate of photosynthesis. For example, if light intensity is decreased, this will result in a decrease in the rate of photosynthesis. Other factors such as the levels of carbon dioxide, presence of chlorophyll, water and temperature can also affect the rate.

When cells in the leaf photosynthesise during the day, they will produce the oxygen needed for the plant to respire, therefore more oxygen is not required to diffuse into the leaf from the air. Poster 7 was developed by Dr. Blake Meyers and Dr. Junpeng Zhan, Dr. Nicolas Bologna from the Centre for Research in Agricultural Genomics, Spain, and Dr. Rebecca Mosher from the University of Arizona, USA. Transferred into the graphical representation by Dr. Dmitry Shevela ( SciGrafik), Sweden. The glucose that plants produce is sometimes stored in fruits and roots - this is why we can eat apples, and oranges, and other plant-based foods. Top Teaching Resources on Plants and Photosynthesis

For example, one poster may have showcased a new chemistry presentation, while another mentioned an upcoming science fair. Most life on Earth depends on photosynthesis. The process is carried out by plants, algae, and some types of bacteria, which capture energy from sunlight to produce oxygen (O 2) and chemical energy stored in glucose (a sugar). Herbivores then obtain this energy by eating plants, and carnivores obtain it by eating herbivores.
