About this deal

The EN131 non-professional standards will cover ladders for domestic use only. This classificationis able to hold a 150kg load but the ladders within this classification are tested a little less vigorously. The EN131 Non-Professional certification replaces Class 3 ladders for domestic users only. How will I know if a product is compliant with EN131? If you have ladders that were compliant with the obsolete and withdrawn standards you may continue to use them if they are still in good condition – that’s

EN131– For trade and light industrial use – This is the class to go for as it means the ladder conforms to a standard that is suitable for light industrial and trade use. By getting one of these ladders to use in the home, you know you are investing in something that is high quality as it can be used in a trade environment.

Standing Ladder Tests

triple extension ladder– 2.5 metres when closed, 5.5 metres when extended, 230mm depth, 1-metre stabiliser bar. As the tallest telescopic ladder featured here, the Teenza 4.9M Telescopic Ladder extends to an impressive 4.9 m. It’s the best telescopic ladder if you’ve got exterior work to do on your home, such as cleaning upstairs windows or removing leaves from gutters. European ladder standards ( EN’s) are developed by an organisation called CEN. CEN, the European Committee for Standardization, brings together the national standardization bodies of 34 European countries including the British Standards Institution (BSI) in the UK who remain a member even though we have left the European Union.

The Werner weighs a reassuringly hefty 11.75kg and is only one metre high when collapsed, yet fully extends to a total of 2.8m, thus giving a safe working height of 3.63m (nearly 12ft). It also functions as a stepladder, stairway stepladder, extension ladder and as two scaffold bases, with the telescopic sections allowing for rung-by-rung height adjustment to reach the desired height. When fully retracted it measures just 80 x 47 x 8 cm. This makes it easy to store around the home too.

Leaning Ladder Tests

When in use, this ladder feels sturdy and the anti-slip rubber feet offer good grip across a range of surfaces. It’s a useful height for jobs around the home and would make a good loft ladder too. Much easier to store– storing a telescopic ladder is easy, but if you have a 5m long ladder that will not fold down or become any smaller, keeping that somewhere hidden will be almost impossible! Conventional ladders have to be left outside unless you have a massive garage or shed in which to store them. This can cause them to deteriorate much faster and is simply not practical. Staff do not need to be retrained on the new standard, it is however reccomended that they are made familiar with the changes and swap to the new standard once older equipment starts to fail inspections. Training is not a legal requirement, but again it is best practice of a responsible employer. The Working at Height regulations state that only a competent person should work from height, and completing a Ladder Association accredited training course is a good way to prove this, once completed this is valid for five years. Further Information More uses– if you require a ladder to access different heights on your home (for roof, windows, loft etc) then you will need more than one ladder. You can use a 5m long conventional ladder to clean out the guttering but using that to get into the loft would be impossible! A telescopic ladder is adjustable to suit the need of the project.

This telescopic ladder conforms to the EN 131 regulation (suitable for light industrial use and trade) which is fantastic considering how cheap it is. It’s easy to carry as well: the heavy-duty strap allows you to secure the ladder shut, and it can then be carried with one hand. It weighs 13.3 kg so is reasonably lightweight, though some people may find it heavy to carry for extended periods. The stabiliser bar was solid and provided plenty of grip and stopped the ladder from shifting sideways. B512’s membership is made up of ladder user groups, safety professionals, regulators and members of the Ladder Association and is currently chaired by Don Aers, the Ladder Association’s Technical Manager. In addition to taking part in the development of the EN ladder standards (published in the UK as BS EN’s), B512 is responsible for the British ( BS) ladder standards. The size when fully retracted is 84 cm high, which will free up valuable space in your garage or shed! It can even be stored safely away in that pokey cupboard under the stairs.I’ve owned the ladder for just over a year and I use it everyday for surveying purposes. It’s proven reliable and robust. Material & Build Quality: The ladder should be crafted from high-quality materials, preferably corrosion-resistant aluminum, ensuring longevity and robust performance. The joints and hinges should also feel sturdy and durable. The size can be adjusted in 1ft increments which is ideal for any tight jobs that require a specific height setting. You can work at smaller heights of 33 inches all the way up to 12.5ft for higher up jobs. It also has a great safety feature that shows when rungs are safely engaged (so you don’t accidentally not engage them causing the ladder to collapse). New standards for ladder safety have now come into force, but many sub-standard ladders are still sold online and in shops around the UK.

With a maximum height of 4.5 m, the Nineaccy 4.5M Telescopic Ladder is one of the taller telescopic ladders featured here and it’s also one of the easiest to use. Worhan is a popular German manufacturer of ladders and produces high quality products. This ladder is no exception and is great considering the price. It is suitable for both professional and domestic use making it one of the most robust telescopic ladders available. For business users, we recommend updating your procurement policies to ensure all future new and replacement ladders comply with the revised EN 131 standard. You don’t need re-training to use the new style ladders (compliant with the current EN 131 standard). Beware of buying a ladder that’s longer than necessary – even if it compacts down well, you’ll still have to carry the extra weight.
