About this deal

The strikes are over but the service from Royal mail is still as shaky as ever but at the moment they are the best of a bad bunch. Diatomaceous earth, made from the aching fossils of marine plants, contains 89% – 95% amorphous silica, it also contains 15 essential trace minerals and boasts a range of health benefits. Zeljko is passionate about the many properties and uses of clay, and how this simple substance can assist us in so many valuable ways.

This DE is classed as food-grade, is not heat-treated, and contains no chemicals or pesticides (beware of other DE that is calcinated - heat-treated - and only meant for use in filtration systems).

Under normal conditions this predatory mite population will outgrow any spidermite population due to the increased amount the females lay eggs. Hair/fur deserves to be looked after and at 90 micrograms per gram is almost as rich in silica as healthy bones! Free From: magnesium stearate, yeast, gluten, starch, lactose, sweeteners, sugar, colours, preservatives, GMOs. Simply use the puffer nozzle in the 100g bottle to add a light dusting of DE powder to the top of the wormery's contents.

It can be used in the home without any worry with sensible use, remember this is 100% Natural product so no nasty chemicals here!It will also reduce the odour in barns from excrement and prevent larvae from forming in the manure. DE is a desiccant powder that can be sprinkled inside the hen house or on the birds, or on cat and dog bedding. It is worth noting here that there have been claims Diatomaceous Earth powder can treat worms and internal parasites; however, there is no scientific evidence to back this up and so we advise administering a proper worming routine for your hens.

It is effective against all types of insects including aphids, ants, bed bugs, cockroaches, fleas, mites, slugs, snails and ticks.

An easy way to tell if you have a red mite problem in your coop is to place a small square of white towelling material in the corner of your nest boxes or over the end of a perch. Although these may seem very different problems they can all be solved in the same way: by absorption.
