Description

These motorcycle jeans for men are fully lined with 340gsm 100% military-grade aramid lining (DuPont™ Kevlar®), which enabled these motorcycle jeans to pass the highest domestic motorcycle CE level of AAA, as tested by SATRA Technology Centre in the UK . Paranoid Motorcycle Jean Features: Most of the time I wear Level 1 armour, and in jeans I do like the D3O Ghost protectors as they’re extremely slim, flexible and breathable, but they’re best for me in tighter-fitting trousers. Designed and meticulously crafted in Italy, PMJ are renowned for their commitment to style and quality, which is clearly evident in these exceptional jeans. The vintage-inspired blue wash denim exudes a timeless appeal, accentuated by classic stitching and belt loops, with a casual fit. As an added touch of luxury, these jeans even come with an Italian leather belt. Dyneema is 60 percent, cotton is 38 percent, and elastane is 2 percent in this pair of jeans. Because they are authorized to prEN17092: 2017 Level AA, there is no need to worry about the outer layer wearing down over time and reducing protection.

Padded areas are often the removable type allowing for changing and cleaning. Breathable material provides greater comfort and hygiene after long hot rides. John Doe's proprietary XTM technology is the result of extensive research and development by their in-house team. These XTM fibres, which consist of Kevlar, Coolmax, Lycra, and Teflon, combine for a unique lining designed not only to provide optimal protection when needed but also to keep you cool and comfortable throughout the day. I choose to only wear single-layer jeans with an AAA-rating and a thin comfort liner, but they’re available at a range of prices, so spend what you can afford on the kit you like the look and feel of. In reply to a comment on our video (see below), PPE expert Paul Varnsverry took a snapshot of the abrasion resistance tests – which are carried out using a properly calibrated Cambridge machine with a 60 grit belt –and studied all the results to find that of 53 motorcycle jeans tested, only 23 had an abrasion resistance score of two or more out of ten. They were all lined jeans. The optional knee armor is positioned in the correct location when riding, and when you’re off the bike it’s comfortably flexible and easily removable. With the help of other rider gear, motorcycle jeans are a need. Riders who wear protective equipment around their hip and knees will be more likely to survive. When deciding, don’t forget about the armor or the pads. What matters more than anything is that the armour is in the right place when you’re on the bike, and that it doesn’t move around. UK roads are often thought of simply as ‘asphalt’, which is about four times less abrasive than chip-seal, or surface-dressed roads. It’s the surface you’ll most likely find on the main arteries of our road network. No rule says your motorcycle pants must look like a standard pair of jeans. For those who prefer the convenience of having a ‘two-in-one’ type of pants, then they are ideal. The hidden armour may also prove handy if you live in a rough part of town! A full day at the office may not be possible with unlined jeans because they are warmer and heavier than typical trend jeans. While cycling, they do a great job of reducing the effects of wind and gusts. They’ll never be warm enough for winter, but they’re ideal for late spring and early autumn rides.

James Dean’s K Fifty 1 Jeans don’t have complicated stitching or branding to give them a James Dean vibe. On long rides, the crotch bunching is no longer an issue. Denim jeans are sized in pretty much the same way as standard fashion jeans, but non-denim types like rally pants may differ. Many brands supply their jeans quite long, so this might not suit riders with a shorter leg, while others offer varying lengths and some will adjust the length of your jeans to suit you, free of charge. Personally, I don’t like turn-ups on a bike as I seem to keep getting the footpegs caught in them.It must be noted that outside of their protective features, the Daiji jeans closely resemble other high-end jeans in terms of appearance, and this is reflected in the slightly disappointing CE A safety rating. However, it is the fusion of Diesel's signature style and Alpinestars' expertise in motorcycle gear that sets them apart.

If something isn’t going to be of many benefits to you, don’t spend money on it. Make a list of the characteristics you want in your rider gear before you buy so that you don’t waste money on features you don’t need. People know Aerostich for its world-famous Roadcrafter coverall suit. But did you know Aerostich makes jeans, too? These are the Protekt jeans, and while the name might be spelled a little weird, the overall fit, finish, and quality are top notch. We even wrote a review of the Protekt jeans. But if you want the elevator pitch for them here it is, straight from Aerostich: One of the most essential features of this motorcycle PPE is the carefully made thermal liner. They call thermal liner attachment tabs “ Tech Liner Connection“” in red to help you discover them. The thermal liner keeps me warm on lengthy rides and has no visible stitching. Dyneema is the name of material they use in jeans. We now have a UHMWPE brand called Dyneema, a type of polyethylene (ultra-high-molecular-weight-polyethylene). The world’s most vital, longest-lasting, and lightest fiber, it’s no wonder. Because of its slight weight and high strength-to-weight ratio, it can float on water. The Cambridge machine is used to test abrasion resistance under EN13595, and gives a time to failure

They provide enough protection while maintaining the look and feel. This standard look-alike pair of denim pants while you are off the bike. I wear jeans when I ride on the road unless I’m absolutely sure I’m getting rained on, so these relatively robust items fit the bill perfectly. That’s because they’re heavy-duty enough to wear in lower temperatures - down to around 12 degrees centigrade - without feeling cold. In fitment terms they’re great too, almost exactly mirroring the Levi’s I wear when I’m not riding in both length and waist sizing. If you're a female rider in search of your new favourite denim, look no further than the Motogirl Ellie jeans. Crafted from a blend of denim cotton, elastane, and abrasion-resistant aramid fibres, these single-layer jeans strike a perfect balance between comfort and durability. The interwoven structure of the fabric ensures exceptional abrasion resistance, rivalling that of highly protective racing leathers. Despite their impressive protective qualities, the jeans remain lightweight and effortless to wear.
